As the only public survey research center in Idaho with a call center, the Social Science Research Unit (SSRU) in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology at the University of Idaho is a unique entity. SSRU provides a powerful mechanism for collaborative, interdisciplinary research within the University community as well as organizations and governments in the region. The SSRU is committed to the highest caliber of research activity, and strives to ensure that data is collected and reported in a way that is statistically valid, and protects the rights of potential respondents by adhering to human subject protocols mandated by the Institutional Review Board.
The SSRU seeks to educate both our clients and UI students in survey research methods, in order to facilitate the collection and use of valid research data that may address complex societal and environmental problems. Finally, the SSRU seeks to further the mission of the University of Idaho through its research and outreach.
